Supporting a development team across user experience and design to make Fanclash an enjoyable and attractive application for fantasy football fans.
Fanclash offers players a unique daily fantasy football experience. Users are able to select players and become the ultimate coach, placing bets against friends and colleagues in daily Premier League match contests. Platform 45, the development company behind Fanclash, approached Isoflow for assistance and support with user experience (UX) and design across both the marketing website and web application.
We were involved with the UX from the start, helping to create user journeys and detailed wireframes. We then helped bring the Fanclash brand to life through the design of the dynamic platform.
We were thoroughly involved in the user experience process, ensuring that the goals of the platform were translated into clear user journeys. Our team then created detailed wireframes, making the implementation of design a smooth and consistent process across the marketing site and web application.
Detailed wireframes helped us to focus on the most important features and flows of the marketing site and web app. We did extensive research within the fantasy football space before jumping into design, enabling us to create a design that was sporty, modern and centred around rich graphics to engage users.
We built out Fanclash’s existing colour palette by adding some brighter, fresher variants, whilst maintaining the sporty look and feel.
With a relatively open design brief, we had fun sourcing bold, rich, action-filled imagery for the responsive marketing site. We also designed custom icons and unique elements that were carried across to the application. Simple steps were used to explain to users how the process works and to encouraged them to sign up and start playing.
Fanclash offers users the opportunity to win cash by creating fantasy football teams from a selection of players (based on specified salary budgets and skills) and paying an entrance fee to enter their teams into contests. Users can filter contests, manage their squad and view live contest results. We focused on making the application well-organised, whilst maximising the amount of data that was shown, using a clean, modern interface.
Fanclash required the same functionality on mobile and desktop. Due to the complexity of the app, we opted to design a separate mobi site for the application instead of compromising on the experience with a sub-optimal responsive website. We applied new UX thinking and designed it as closely to native apps as possible.
